Bishop Smith serves as Servant Bishop of The Greater Bible Way church Association, which was founded in 1999, of South Carolina and Pastor of The Greater Bible Way Church of Georgetown. Under his leadership 16 people are employed.
Mother Joan Hill Smith
Mother Joan Hill Smith was born in Petersburg, Virginia. She is the daughter of the Late Bishop Floyd Hill and Mother Bernice Hill; under the pastorate of her father she was baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost at an early age. Mother Smith moved to New York City in the early 1960's. She became a member of the Bible Way Church, 295 Gates Avenue, Brooklyn, NY, where the late Bishop Joseph Moore was pastor.
She met and married on August 9, 1969, Min. John Smith, Jr. an associate Min. of the Bible Way Church; to this union, on November 5, 1970 the Lord blessed and Mother Smith gave birth to her first-born son Jamel and on April 26, 1975 she gave birth to her second son Jeremy.
Bishop John Smith, Jr. and Mother Joan Smith relocated to Georgetown, SC in 1975. In 1977 Bishop and Mother Smith established a Bible Way Church in the city of Georgetown, SC.
Mother Smith faithfully serves by her husband's side here at Greater Bible Way Church of Georgetown, SC.
